The James Neill Trust Fund

Charity number: 503203

Background

The James Neill Trust Fund was established by Marjorie Wike Coote (daughter of James Neill) in 1961, to be applied for such charitable purposes benefiting persons residing within 20 miles of Sheffield Cathedral as the Trustees in their absolute discretion shall from time to time determine.

It is the policy of the Trustees to give ongoing support (subject to annual review) to established voluntary organisations benefiting the qualifying area.

The Trustees also give sympathetic consideration to requests for “one off” grants to organisations requiring finance to meet “start-up” costs, capital costs offering long term benefits, or costs arising from unforeseen circumstances. No grants are given to individuals.
